Mrs. Stahl’s Knishes. in Brighton Beach Brooklyn. Originally located on 1001 Brighton Beach Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11235. For 70 years, Mrs. Stahl’s Knishes wasn’t just a beloved knish shop. It was a neighborhood institution, a second home, and a sacred stop for generations of New Yorkers.
Fannie Stahl’s handmade knishes — filled with potato, cabbage, kasha, cherry cheese, and more — were legendary. After her passing, the Weingast brothers carried on the tradition until the shop eventually closed. The original recipe survived, passed on to Mike Conte, who continued to produce and ship the knishes commercially. And today, countless home bakers still keep the spirit of Mrs. Stahl’s alive in their kitchens.
This miniature model is a heartfelt tribute to that iconic corner of Brighton Beach. Every architectural detail — from the signage to the storefront layout — has been carefully recreated to honor the memory of a place that meant so much to so many.
This is more than a model. It’s a way to preserve history, to remember a flavor, a feeling, a time.
