The Randazzo family story began around 1920, when Sam Randazzo opened a fish market on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
In 1932, Sam moved his family’s seafood business to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. There, fishing boats lined the waterfront, and the Randazzo family became part of the neighborhood’s growing seafood community.
Years later, Sam’s daughter Helen helped create a Brooklyn institution. She served local fishermen fried calamari with her family’s famous homemade red sauce. The food became so popular that the family expanded the business, eventually establishing Randazzo’s Clam Bar.
Today, the Randazzo family continues its remarkable legacy on Emmons Avenue.
