A Legendary Italian Restaurant Preserved in Miniature
A Brooklyn Institution Since 1964
Michael’s of Brooklyn stands as one of Brooklyn’s most respected Italian restaurants. In 1964, Michael Cacace emigrated from Bari, Italy and opened a small pizzeria that seated only three people.
However, the neighborhood quickly embraced the restaurant.
Because guests loved the food and atmosphere, Michael’s grew year after year. Today, the restaurant welcomes more than 130 guests at a time. In addition, it attracts families, business owners, politicians, and well-known New Yorkers.
Yet, despite its growth, Michael’s still feels like a neighborhood gathering place.
Old-World Recipes and a Family Legacy
Michael’s of Brooklyn serves classic Italian dishes, fresh seafood, and seasonal specialties. Moreover, the restaurant produces its own signature pasta sauces directly on site.
Because the team makes and bottles the sauces in the same location where the recipes were created, Michael’s preserves a rare culinary tradition. As a result, the brand maintains a level of authenticity few restaurants can match.
Most importantly, the Cacace family continues to protect the recipes and traditions that made the restaurant famous.
