I am very excited to capture and recreate in miniature The iconic Rex Manor Catering Hall and Restaurant.

SKU: REXMAN Category:

Tommy Kafkalas contacted me and explained that his Dad, John, was the owner. And how he was a workhorse in that anything needed to be done, he took care of it.. Personally. John owned it for 35 years. From 1984-2019 when it closed its door forever. John did everything imaginable to make it a magical place. And to keep its honor and tradition going from the previous owner. As well as the co-owners Chris and Steve who were a huge part of it.

The Rex Manor was first opened by Italian immigrant Carmine Bartiromo and his cousin Louis in 1954. Carmine traveled to Brooklyn on a boat called the Rex. It was also a family business. Journalist and author Maria Bartiromo, who is Carmine’s granddaughter, even worked there growing up as a coat check girl. And Tommy as well.

It’s what made this place special, and different. People to this day rave about the manor. They got married there, had a birthday, sweet 16 or a business function. It was a place you knew you could eat well and enjoy yourself and have great service.

Years later it’s still talked about. I am making a limited number of duplicates available for your collection/Christmas village display.
