Caputo’s Fine Foods
Giuseppe opened in 1973 fulfilling a dream to serve the Italian American community in Brooklyn.
Offering his homemade and imported specialty Italian grocery items. Meats, olives, both dry and fresh pasta and fresh mozzarella, which Caputo’s is still known for to this day. When Giuseppe retired his son Frank took over the business. He learned everything from his dad, including how to make fresh mozzarella using the old traditional methods.
For year Frank upheld the highest quality at Caputo’s Fine Foods as it was his family reputation. Years later his sons Joseph and Franco are carrying on the traditions and methods that his grandfather and father have been for generations. And I was so grateful when I realized that there are still people out there carrying on our traditions. As I researched the building and storefront, I was transformed back to Brooklyn NY in the 70s.
This miniature model was crafted to capture its essence.
